| For the first time in the United States, the midsized BMW X3 SUV will be offered with a diesel engine. Yes, BMW is adding a diesel powertrain to its popular X3 lineup for the 2015 model year. The BMW X3 xDrive28d features a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine, which brings with it a considerable increase in fuel efficiency. But don't expect performance to be second-rate, as this engine will still produce 180 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, propelling the BMW X3 diesel from 0 to 60 mph in less than eight seconds. An eight-speed automatic transmission will ensure that gear changes are smooth and fuel economy remains generous even for an all-wheel-drive SUV. Refreshed for 2015, this crossover SUV now sports new bumpers and exterior mirrors with integrated turn-signal indicators, new headlights with optional LED, a revised front grille, and new exterior and interior colors.
