Sometimes it feels like BMW almost gives shoppers too many choices. Every model in the lineup is a winner, so choosing just one can be challenging. If you’ve narrowed down your choice to either the 2027 BMW X1 or 2027 BMW X2, BMW of Catonsville wants to help you out with this guide that shows how they compare in several key areas.
Exterior Design
These BMW SUVs look similar, but there are some differences. The 2027 BMW X1 is a little taller and has a boxier roofline, while the 2027 BMW X2 has a lower, more sweeping roofline, giving it a coupe-like appearance. In addition, it’s a little longer than the new BMW X1.
Powertrain
Both model lines offer the same two powertrains. The BMW X1 xDrive28i and BMW X2 xDrive28i use a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 241 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, while the BMW X1 M35i and BMW X2 M35i use a higher-output turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder producing 312 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. All four models include a seven-speed automatic transmission and xDrive® AWD.
Interior Space
Both the 2027 BMW X1 and 2027 BMW X2 have spacious cabins with plenty of room for five people. Their most notable differences inside concern cargo space. The BMW X1 offers 25.7 cubic feet behind the rear row and 57.2 cubic feet when it is folded. With the BMW X2, you will get 25.3 cubic feet behind the back seats and 51.7 cubic feet when they are down.
Technology and Safety
When it comes to tech and safety, these SUVs are twins. They both have wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, in-dash navigation, HD and satellite radio, and a 10.7-inch touchscreen for the iDrive® infotainment system. In addition, they come with Active Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning, and Frontal Collision Warning.
