To call the BMX iX powerful is a bit of an understatement. It comes with two electric motors and a 111.5-kWh lithium-ion battery that combine to put out 516 horsepower and 564 lb-ft of torque. There’s also another powertrain consisting of two motors and a battery that pumps out a combined 610 horsepower and 811 lb-ft of torque when launch control is engaged. A single-speed automatic transmission is standard with both setups.
Handling and Acceleration
The BMX iX is a large vehicle, but it drives like a much smaller one. Thanks to a battery module with a low center of gravity, this SUV offers agile and responsive handling. And if you like getting up to speed fast, the base powertrain offers a 0-to-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds. If you go with the available powertrain, that’s cut to just 3.6 seconds.
Driving Range and Charging Time
The BMW iX will get you to your destination with minimal pit stops, featuring an EPA-estimated range of up to 307 miles. Charging is fast and simple; with a 240-volt outlet, the battery can be completely charged in under 12 hours. DC Fast Charging will get you up to 90 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
