Your BMW tires play a major role with both safety and performance, which is why they have to be well-maintained. To learn more about tire care, we put together a tire FAQ.

What Type of Service Do My Tires Need?

Your tires put in a lot of work every day, and they need to be serviced periodically. Regular rotations are important because it helps each tire wear more evenly. In addition to improving performance, it extends their lifespan. Additional tire services we offer:

  • Tire balances
  • Air pressure adjustments
  • Wheel alignment

Can Tires be Repaired?

If you run over a nail and it punctures a tire, the good news is that you may not need a new one. If the hole isn’t substantial, it may be fixable. However, if the damage is severe – or the tire is old and should soon be replaced anyway – it’s probably not worth it.

How Long Do Tires Last?

As long as you keep up with routine inspection and maintenance, tires can last a very long time, often five to six years.

How Do I Know I Need to Replace My Tires?

There are some signs to pay attention to that will tell you that you need new tires. If, for example, your treads are very shallow or there’s even some balding, this is a red flag. Strange noises or vibrations that seems to be coming from your tires are other indications that they need to be replaced.

What Tires Should I Be Using?

There are several different types of tires, and the ones you may have right now are probably of the all-season variety. These are generally fine, but there are others to consider. Winter tires – or snow tires – provide extra traction for slippery conditions. Summer tires are designed for higher temperatures and both wet and dry roads.
