It’s hard to beat the feeling of taking a new BMW car home. If you want to keep your car driving like new, you’ll want to make routine trips to your local BMW service center. For top-quality work and quick service, be sure to choose BMW of Catonsville.
To help keep you on track with your car’s maintenance schedule, we’ve compiled a list of some of the most important maintenance items to keep up with.
BMW Maintenance Every 10,000 Miles
You’ll hit your first maintenance interval when you rack up 10,000 miles on your BMW car. You should definitely bring your car in to our shop at the one-year mark even if you haven’t hit the mileage interval. At this point in the schedule, you’ll need to have your oil, oil filter, and coolant changed. Repeat this every 10,000 miles.
BMW Maintenance Every 20,000 Miles
This service interval will require you to have your fuel filters inspected and replaced. We'll also check the condition of your tires and deem if a rotation is necessary. This service should be repeated every 20,000 miles.
BMW Maintenance Every 30,000 Miles
Your first brake fluid change should happen at the 30,000-mile mark. After your first brake fluid change, you should have your brake fluid changed every 60,000 miles. Your transmission fluid should also be replaced if your car has a manual transmission.
BMW Maintenance Every 60,000 Miles
At the 60,000-mile interval, have your engine air filter replaced, likely along with your spark plugs. At this point, you should also have your brake pads and rotors inspected and possibly replaced. 60,000 miles is also the interval to have automatic transmission fluid replaced.
BMW Maintenance Every 90,000 Miles
At 90,000 miles, your car will likely need its timing belt and hoses replaced.
After this maintenance interval, you should bring your car into our Baltimore BMW service center every 5,000 miles for a multi-point inspection for preventative maintenance.
